My name is Amanda. I live in Tallahassee, Florida in the United States.
Sometimes I draw things. Sometimes I post things that are not as funny as I thought they were. Mostly I just reblog Carl Sagan related gibberish. Also, banjos are cool.
Prepare for randomness and geekery.

I’d love to live in a place like this. I go outside a lot more often and soak up the atmosphere.I haven’t been in a good mood today myself. I think the trick is going to be to get out of the house, read and write elsewhere. I remember writing in locales like this while in Europe. It wasn’t just Europe that sparked me: I was moody and tired at key times there. It’s more the idea one is out somewhere that’s nice enough and one wants to make the most of that. I remember scribbling the notes for this reflection on Masaccio’s “Holy Trinity” at a somewhat nice locale.

I must say, I have some pretty cool stuff in my house sometimes.

Whenever you think about littering, just remember this photo.Since 2009, photographer Chris Jordan has been documenting birds on Midway Atoll way out in the Pacific Ocean — near what’s known as the “Pacific Garbage Patch” or, essentially, a swirling heap of plastic the size of Texas.
What Jordan found on those islands were carcasses of baby birds that have died an unnerving death: According to the BBC, “about one-third of all albatross chicks die on Midway, many as the result of being mistakenly fed plastic by their parents.”
